What do solar panels cost on Aruba?

How much does solar save on Aruba?
Aruba has sun almost every day. Our own Enphase systems produce a median of about 1,600 kWh per kWp per year, measured over 35 healthy systems in 2025–2026. With the Elmar residential rates (Afl. 0.34 to 0.46 per kWh, depending on your usage), a 16-panel system that replaces most of your bill saves roughly Afl. 5,000 to 6,000 a year. That means it usually pays for itself in about 4 years.
Real example: a 6.24 kWp home system in Savaneta that we installed in 2012 has produced 118,597 kWh so far, about Afl. 41,500 saved on the Elmar bill.
DTI/Elmar inspection costs
The inspection fee depends on the size of the system. It is already included in the prices above.
| System size | Inspection |
|---|---|
| Up to 5 kVA | Afl. 1,100 |
| 5 to 10 kVA | Afl. 1,350 |
| 10 to 25 kVA | Afl. 1,750 |
| 25 to 50 kVA | Afl. 2,200 |
Questions
Is the DTI/Elmar inspection included?
Yes. Every home price on this page includes the DTI/Elmar inspection and connection paperwork. We arrange the inspection after installation.
How long does installation take?
A standard home system is usually installed in 1 to 2 days. Ordering the materials takes longer than the installation itself.
How do I pay?
60% deposit when you sign the estimate, so we can order your materials. The remaining 40% at delivery, after the DTI/Elmar inspection. Estimates are valid for 30 days.
Can I start small and add panels later?
Yes. Because every panel has its own Enphase microinverter, you can add 4 or 8 panels later without replacing an inverter.
Does the price change with my roof?
Slightly. Roof tiles, shingles, metal/zinc and flat concrete each need a different racking system. Flat concrete roofs need ballast frames and cost a little more. We confirm the price after a free site visit.
How much will I save?
That depends on your Elmar bill. On Aruba each kWp produces about 1,600 kWh a year, so a 9.76 kWp system makes about 15,600 kWh. At the current Elmar residential rates that is roughly Afl. 5,000 to 6,000 a year. Use the calculator on our home page with your own bill.
