On Aruba the sun shines almost every day, but the trade winds also bring salt and dust. A layer of dirt on your panels can cost you a noticeable part of your production, and you keep paying Elmar for the difference. Our cleaning and monitoring contract keeps your system clean and watched.

What the contract includes
- 4 cleanings a year, with clean water and soft brushes that do not damage the glass
- A visual check of panels, racking, cables and roof penetrations at every visit
- Monitoring through Enphase: we watch the production of every panel
- A report when a panel or microinverter produces less than it should
- Contract for 1 year, you pay within 30 days after each cleaning, no deposit
Monitoring finds problems early
With Enphase we see the production per panel. When one panel suddenly produces much less than its neighbours, or a gateway stops reporting because the Wi-Fi changed, we notice it and contact you. Most problems we find are small: a new router, a tripped breaker, a dirty panel.
Repairs
We also repair and re-install systems: replacing microinverters, removing and putting back panels for roof repairs, and troubleshooting systems that produce too little.
Questions
How often should solar panels be cleaned on Aruba?
We recommend 4 times a year. Salt and dust from the trade winds build up faster than rain washes them off, especially near the coast and in the dry season.
What does cleaning cost?
Afl. 8 per panel per cleaning. For a 16-panel home system that is Afl. 128 per cleaning, or Afl. 512 a year with 4 cleanings.
Do you also clean systems installed by someone else?
Yes. We clean and check any solar system. For Enphase systems we can also add the system to our monitoring.
Can I clean the panels myself?
You can rinse them with clean water early in the morning. Never use a high-pressure washer, soap or a brush that scratches, and do not walk on the panels. On a high or steep roof, leave it to us.
